Farewell

This forum seems to have come to a quiet stand-still, considering the latest posts. Apparently there is no more need for it. Probably not unlike other KCML specialists I have now retired from work although some work on the side using KCML still helps to pay for nice holidays. A special thumbs up to ...

Re: Does KClient work with 64bit Windows?

Hello Simon, This extension is indeed needed. I use 64bit Windows 7 for about a year now and haven't run into any problems with KCML. The only disadvantage is that after installing you can't get to the kclient properties anymore so if you need to change something you should make a new kclient connec...

Re: PDF creation

Hello Russell and co-readers, I've installed PDFCreator. The PDF printer then will be available as one of your printdevices. Start the program to get to the the options. In the subscreen for autosave you can set stuff such as documentname. Next you print the output to the chosen driver From Excel fo...

Re: PDF creation

I've looked into this application and it certainly is complete enough to cater for all our needs. I have however decided against it in the end as it would require knowledge of yet another wordprocessor and I still haven't gotten rid of all the previous ones. I now create documents as before using my...

Re: PDF creation

Thanks, that seems to be just what I was looking for. I'll need some time obviously to get the first documents up and running but you'll hear about my findings in a month or so.

PDF creation

Although I've succeeded in creating Word documents which then can be printed to a pdf driver I wonder if there is a method of creating a pdf file direct from KCML 6. I know how to generate PCL coding but that doesn't seem to help me much further.

I appreciate your help

Re: Conversion to Daemons

Hi Bob,

Probably your server runs 24/7 so why not simply start the program from the server rather then from a client. both kclient and wdw can run on the server, if access is troublesome then use a remote desktop.

KCML as a webapplication

Resulting from a discussion in the Introductions chapter (see http://www.kcmlhelp.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=123&start=0&sid=7d278e5e250f7dfbc7bd61d2428933e1 ) I now open a new topic regarding the use of KCML to create html code. The last question asked was how this works out for the licensing. As br...

Re: Another introduction

I don't 'use anything fancy. Here's the setup I install apache (from xampp) and add lines AddHandler cgi-script .cgi (which probably is there already) immediately followed by AddType applicaton/x-httpd-kcml .kcml Be aware that this is not the way the manual describes how it should work. I never succ...

Re: Conversion to Daemons

Not exactly, but my solution might give you an idea. What I do is have a background task running (started as a service krom kserveradmin) This task checks a table that holds jobnumbers, date and time. On a given moment that particular job is then executed (and removed from the table). Since the job ...
