I am a programmer who uses Visual basic for my job and also use C# in my spare time, an internal job has come up at my work place and I would like to learn KCML, does anybody know anywhere I could find a good starting point as there seems to be really limited help and I can not find anywhere to download a client etc.

The KCML Website has some good example code in their download area, you can also find the KCML 6 Help files there which also have a lot of useful information.
I started using KCML some years ago, but had an existing code base to work from and used the documentation for reference.
I do not have much experience in KCML forms programming, so can not comment on how well that is put together, but as for the rest of the toolset I find it quite straightforward.

Thanks for your reply, From your experience is the language easy to learn ,I usually dont have trouble picking up new programming languages and hopefully should be able to adapt fairly quickly but It would be useful to know if people experience any particular challenges when picking up this language.

Yes, if you have experience of variants of basic then your knowledge will be easily adapated.
Coming from Visual basic you may find the development environment to be less rich at first. Have you already got access to a KCML based system which you can play with writing some basic programs or not?

unfortunately not at the moment the program is maintained by a third party and there is no access to it, if there is anywhere I could get a light package to test on I would be really interested. Thanks for your reply once again

I have been programming in KCML including KFORMS and of course KDB for nearly 7 years now. I used to train new KCML developers in KDB, KFORMS and CVS and other stuff when I worked a Kerride/ADP. So I should be able to help out. I have also got experience of writing DLL's that work with KCML's $DECLARES (written in c++). I have experience in Java (including education), and have written C# applications. I have a fair amount of web programming skills too. So I shal try and help out where I can.

So, did you get the job?
